To secure your place in a course or workshop we require full payment at the time of booking.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please choose your course dates carefully!

As we do not offer refunds, if you change your mind after you have made your booking or you are unable to attend, you may transfer your booking to a friend. This must be done before the course starts and we must be advised of this change. Once the course has begun there are no transfers.

If there is a waitlist and we can offer your spot to another student before the term commences, we will hold your payment for later in the year.

Class purchases cannot be transferred to another day, time or term.

We do not offer make up classes if you are unable to attend your regular weekly class.

Gift vouchers can not be refunded.

A minimum of five people is required to run courses. Urban Clay reserves the right to cancel a class if the minimum number of bookings are not reached. You will be notified at least one week prior to the class if cancellation is deemed necessary and a full refund will be provided

Enrolment Review and Right to Discontinue Attendance

Our Studio is committed to fostering a harmonious, creative, and safe environment where everyone can enjoy learning and making. To support this, all enrolments are subject to ongoing review at the Studio’s direction, including situations where a student has enrolled and submitted payment for classes.

The Studio’s aim is to create a thriving learning community where all students can flourish. This means that, at times, the Studio may decline or discontinue an enrolment before or after commencement if a student’s specific working style, expectations, or creative aims cannot be appropriately supported within our environment or programs.

In addition, the Studio reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, review, or discontinue a student’s enrolment at any time if their behaviour or actions are inconsistent with maintaining a positive, respectful, and harmonious creative environment. This may include conduct that is unsafe, disruptive, disrespectful, or otherwise impacts the wellbeing, comfort, or creative experience of others. Decisions made under this clause are final and are not subject to review, appeal, or reconsideration.

Where appropriate, and at the Studio’s discretion, a refund for any unused sessions may be offered

Firing, Storage and Collection Disclaimer

The Studio will take all reasonable care when handling, storing, and firing students’ work; however, students acknowledge that ceramics is an inherently unpredictable medium. The Studio accepts no liability for any loss, damage, cracking, warping, glaze faults, kiln mishaps, or other outcomes that may occur during firing. It may not always be possible to return pieces that are damaged during the firing process.

While every effort is made to maintain a safe and organised studio environment, the Studio accepts no responsibility for any items that are misplaced, broken, or otherwise damaged while being stored on the premises.

The Studio reserves the right to retain completed pieces until all relevant firing fees have been paid in full. The Studio also reserves the right to dispose of any uncollected work after a period of three (3) months, as storage space is limited and must be managed for the benefit of all students.

By enrolling, students acknowledge and accept these conditions as part of participating in the Studio’s creative environment.

Refer a Friend

  1. Eligibility. The Urban Clay Refer a Friend program is open to existing Urban Clay customers with a registered account who have completed at least one purchase.
  2. How it works. Eligible customers (“referrers”) receive a unique referral link via their account. When a new customer (“friend”) makes a qualifying purchase using that link, the referrer earns a store credit reward.
  3. The reward. Referrers receive $20 credit towards a future purchase, issued as a coupon code once the friend’s qualifying order is completed. The credit is redeemable against Urban Clay courses and is not redeemable for cash.
  4. New customers only. A referral only qualifies where the friend is genuinely new to Urban Clay and has not previously purchased from or held an account with us. Referrals of existing customers do not earn a reward.
  5. Qualifying purchases. Gift vouchers are excluded from the program: purchasing a gift voucher does not earn a referral reward, and referral credit cannot be used to purchase gift vouchers.
  6. Reward use. Referral credit is issued after the friend’s order is marked complete. It cannot be combined with other discounts or offers, and only one referral coupon may be used per order.
  7. Fair use. Referral rewards are for genuine referrals of new customers. Self-referrals, fake accounts, or any attempt to manipulate the program will result in rewards being withheld and may lead to account suspension.
  8. Changes. Urban Clay may amend, suspend, or end the Refer a Friend program, or these terms, at any time. Changes take effect when published on this page.
